The SCET x AVP partnership will further Aalto’s vision to help the community create a sustainable future through entrepreneurship by solving problems related to Sustainable Development Goals.
The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at the University of California, Berkeley is thrilled to announce our renewed partnership with Aalto Ventures Program (AVP), the university-wide entrepreneurship education program at Aalto University, Finland. Aalto Ventures Program is SCET’s only connection in Finland and they are one of the top-rated university innovation centers in Europe. Through this partnership, SCET and AVP can strengthen their support to help anyone with the right mindset to reshape the world.
The strategic partnership provides great value for both university entrepreneurship programs because of their shared mission to teach students to build like an entrepreneur. Whether that is through SCET’s Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship curriculum or AVP’s Starting Up educational courses, students in both programs get the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams, participate in hands-on exercises, and gain the tools required for constructing a startup. Moreover, AVP will be sending some Finnish students to SCET’s startup program – some of the previous Aalto University students accomplished amazing things during their time at SCET, such as ‘Reallocating Millions of COVID-19 Health Supplies’ during the pandemic!
“As the largest entrepreneurial center at UC Berkeley, the Sutardja Center is committed to empowering entrepreneurs to positively change the world. We believe in responsible innovation and the added value of diversity”, Ikhlaq Sidhu, the Founding Faculty Director of SCET, states.
