The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at the University of California, Berkeley is excited to announce a new partnership with Chulalongkorn University’s School of Integrated Innovation (SCII) to collaborate with UC Berkeley students on entrepreneurial projects and learn the educational approaches and practices pioneered at SCET through the center’s Startup Semester program.

“It is my pleasure to be part of this project, and I look forward to many new things we will develop together in addition to benefiting from this experience,” said Dr. Ikhlaq Sidhu, director of SCET at UC Berkeley. Since its inception, SCET has sought to broaden engineering by encouraging a greater understanding of whether a problem is worth solving, what to do after solving the problem, and how to elevate, lead, and connect engineering with other disciplines.

Chulalongkorn University Vice President for Strategic Planning, Innovation and Global Natcha Thawesaengskulthai noted that SCET’s approach to education and building global innovation and entrepreneurship aligns with SCII’s core disciplines and specializations.

“This integrated critical approach to technology and entrepreneurial innovation jointly pursued by SCET and SCII should serve as a polestar for future endeavors,” she added.

Signatories to the partnership agreement included Eric Giegerich Director, UC Berkeley’s Industry Alliances Office, Dr. Ikhlaq Sidhu, Director, SCET, Professor Natcha Thawesaengskulthai, and Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai. More information about the partnership ceremony can be found at Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII).

SCET is excited to collaborate with SCII and to have the opportunity to expand the center’s global reach.
