UC Berkeley's internationally renowned Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) hosts this week-long in-person program in partnership with leading global institutions. This year's global partners are Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), offering the top business education in Asia and IE University's School of Science and Technology, creating a major hub for science and technology in Europe. These partners, together with UC Berkeley are integral to providing a unique global perspective from both a cohort and instructor perspective. The program guides rising innovation leaders to transform their organizations with proven strategies; cutting edge research and insights; and best-in-class advice for creating more innovative cultures to capitalize on emerging tech developments with a focus on AI.

One Week In-Person 

Built on a decade of SCET innovation leadership education, this immersive program specializes in developing the mindsets of technology professionals to be more innovative and future-focused, while helping them understand, manage, and prepare for emerging technologies that will affect their business. A decade of knowledge condensed into one week.

Curriculum Schedule

All program modules are presented by academic and research superstars, Silicon Valley icons with insights for navigating the future, and business coaches with mindset and framework expertise. The 2024 agenda includes:

    • Program welcome, networking dinner and team building on the UC Berkeley campus.
    • Focus Areas: Data Centricity, Software Centricity, and Tech Leadership.
    • Immersive learning on campus from industry leading expert speakers.
    • Two full day offsite visits to leading Silicon Valley and San Francisco companies.
    • Friday evening -  Closing Keynote and Certificate ceremony.
    • Optional: Pre-program VIP Access to DeCode Conference (11/2 ).

Gregory La Blanc is a Distinguished Teaching Fellow at Berkeley Haas, Berkeley Law School, and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Berkeley. At Haas, he launched the school's first classes in Data Science and Fintech. The recipient of numerous teaching awards, including the Haas Cheit Award, he teaches classes in finance, law, innovation, strategy, technology, and data. He also hosts a popular podcast called Unsiloed and teaches finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford University School of Engineering, and Stanford School of Medicine.

After recently retiring as a partner from Deloitte, he founded a new company, Beyond Our Edge, LLC, that works with companies and people who are seeking to anticipate the future and achieve much greater impact, focusing on business transformation. He is also preparing to create a new center that will offer programs based on his latest book, The Journey Beyond Fear, to help people address the psychology of change and navigate through change at many levels.

While at Deloitte, John was the founder and chairman of the Silicon Valley-based Deloitte Center for the Edge, focusing on identifying emerging business opportunities that are not yet on the CEO’s agenda.

Carlos Escapa leads the global practice of Data & AI in Amazon Web Services' Global Systems Integrators division. He was previously Senior Business Development Manager at AWS where he built the global channels for AI/ML. Mike Todasco is a  Visiting Fellow at the James Silberrad Brown Center for Artificial Intelligence at SDSU. Previously, he was the Senior Director of Innovation at PayPal, where he founded and led PayPal's Blockchain Research Group and led initiatives in many emerging technologies. Mike is a former entrepreneur and holds over 100 US utility patents. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, an MBA from UC Berkeley, and will finalize an MFA at Johns Hopkins in 2025.
