The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures.

The Center is currently hiring for paid student positions. The following positions start at $15/hr. and average 10-20 hours/week (unless otherwise noted).

Course Coordinator

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) is seeking course coordinators for various Fall 2019 courses. This is a paid position starting at $15/hr and responsibilities will vary by course and instructor.

Coordinators assist instructors with course administration including, but not limited to, communication with students and SCET administration, enrollment, preparing course materials, and student mentoring. Course coordinators are expected to work between 10-15 hrs/week on average. Pay begins at $15/hour. See the Schedule of Classes for course descriptions and information.

Video Producer

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is currently seeking student video producers to shoot and edit video for the Center. There will be 1-2 positions available, so a variety of video skills will be considered. Positions start at $15/hr., with a flexible summer or fall start date. Examples of content to be produced include:

  • Recording a class and editing the video to create online learning content
  • Recording a special event, and editing the video for partners and future marketing
  • Producing a promotional video for an upcoming special event
  • Producing interviews with students, faculty, alumni, and other VIPs
  • Editing course capture and videos shot by others

Qualifications: Some experience with shooting and/or editing video content. Must have an interest in developing video skills, and some interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and/or technology.

Writer

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is currently seeking student writers to produce content for the Center. The writers will join an active communications and marketing team, consisting of creative students and staff. Writers will produce a variety of content, depending on their previous experience, interests, and skills. Examples of content includes profiles of entrepreneurs and students, blogs about SCET courses and special events, press releases, and/or technical writing about entrepreneurship and innovation, and the Center’s speciality technological areas such as entrepreneurship, blockchain, data, alternative meats, and other emerging technology andinnovation areas. Qualifications: Experience with writing and an interest in entrepreneurship and technology is required. Candidates must be able to communicate clearly in the written form. Experience with storytelling, marketing, journalism or related fields is a bonus. Those with domain expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation, blockchain, data, alternative meats, or other related topics will have priority.
