SCET:  The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) is the premiere institution at UC Berkeley for the study and practice of entrepreneurship and technology innovation. SCET is globally recognized for developing the Berkeley Method, an internationally recognized approach to teaching technology entrepreneurship to undergraduate students, innovation to graduate students, and technology firm leadership to professionals and executives. SCET STUDENT INNOVATION FELLOWSHIP:  This program is a structured gamified initiative to help students grow their entrepreneurial mindset, participate in projects focused on learning cutting edge new technologies, learn about diverse and personal entrepreneurial journeys and make connections with fellow students, alumni and industry.  SCET Innovation Fellows engage with the program over 12 weeks every fall semester in a series of in person and virtual challenges culminating with prizes offering unique networking and industry experiences.   Fall 2025 will be the fifth cohort of the program.

EXTERNAL TITLE: SCET Student Fellow Lead, Marketing and Content

PAYROLL TITLE:  Student Assistant

DURATION:  4/1/25-12/15/25 (with the intent to continue in the spring 2026 semester pending performance and program review)

TIME COMMITMENT:  average of 5 hours per week

PAY RATE RANGE:  $19 per hour (no tuition remission)

SUPERVISOR: SCET Fellow Manager,  Claire Holland

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a SCET Student Fellow, you will be part of a team building and promoting this program while also tracking impact.  Responsibilities may include:

● Promote both the Fellow program, challenges and specific events through social 

channels, grass roots efforts including SCET classes about the program

● Partner with SCET marketing department to manage the SCET Fellow brand and 

website

●  Produce a weekly newsletter for fellow communication

●  Manage, execute and grow the peer-to-peer networking initiative to strengthen 

community engagement within the Fellow program

●  Create a recap of highlights, learning lessons and impact of the fall 2025 program

●  Participate in a weekly 1:1 meeting, Fellow group meetings and biweekly

  marketing meetings.  Plus, attending one to two Fellow events preferred

●    Participate in the brainstorming of challenge ideas

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

●  Self-motivated

●  Interest in creating and supporting a Berkeley student community

●  Affinity for managing social platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn and Slack

●  Working knowledge of MailChimp and Figma

●  Project management experience and the ability to handle deadlines

●  Solid written and verbal communication skills

●  Creative and analytical skills

●  Committed to a collaborative environment

●  Experience with HubSpot a plus

●  Experience and interest in game theory a plus

●  Experience with event planning a plus

ELIGIBILITY:

Student jobs are restricted to UC Berkeley students who are registered for the current academic semester, or in the grace period immediately before or after academic semester registration (grace period defined as a semester or summer, whichever is before or after the period of enrollment). International students can refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility. Students cannot be appointed in any combination of jobs over 100% FTE (40 hrs/week) at any given time at the University.
