A former Startup Semester student was recently featured as a TEDx speaker for Insper, São Paulo, Brazil.
Igor Marinelli, who was a student in Dr. Pamela Park's Tech Firm Leadership (INDENG 171) course last fall, took the skills he learnt in class to the stage. Unlike in other classes, Tech Firm Leadership students were tasked with the unconventional challenge of presenting mock TED Talks at the end of the semester.
According to Marinelli, he was invited to do the TEDx talk at Insper after they found his INDENG 171 video on YouTube.
During his time as a Sutardja Center, Marinelli was a winner at HackBrazil, with his startup, Blue. He was a computer engineering student at USP, and the founder of STH.org.br — a digital NGO in the health area to help children in need of medical treatments and surgeries in Brazil.
