Prague University of Economics and Business has partnered with SCET since 2019. As the largest university in economics, business, and information technology in the Czech Republic, it serves 15,000 students across its bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and MBA programs. To enhance innovation and entrepreneurship education, they have collaborated with SCET by sending short- and long-term researchers to engage with UC Berkeley’s faculty and researchers, sending students to SCET’s Startup Semester, and participating in SCET’s professional programs.
Most recently, SCET lecturer Alexander Fred-Ojala taught a new course in Prague University’s MBA program, Data & Analytics for Business Management, powered by KPMG. Titled Demystify AI and Machine Learning, the course introduces participants to the value and potential of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Additionally, in fall 2024, Martin Potančok, Assistant Professor at Prague University, lectured in SCET’s Future of Technology course on the critical role of data governance. He likened data governance to running a well-managed kitchen—where quality standards, clear rules, and defined processes ensure only the best “data dishes” are created. Just as food safety is a top priority in any restaurant from day one, he emphasized that data governance should be a fundamental priority from the start of any project. His analogy captured attention and sparked enthusiasm for applying these principles in practice.
