Job Description:

SCET is looking to hire a student graphic design lead for the fall 2018 / spring 2019 academic year. The student will join an established and lively marketing team, and will be responsible for leading all aspects of graphical communication. Work work may include elements such as brand design, website design, flyers, poster, iconography, magazine/book design, logo design, and other forms of graphic design & brand marketing.

Applicants should have an interest in the activities of SCET, such as technology and entrepreneurship. This position will support SCET's dynamic programs which include marketing global and executive programs, and UC Berkeley courses.

Main Responsibilities

This role works with the SCET communications director, program managers, and marketing team to develop graphical collateral to support SCET programs and initiatives.

  • Develop collateral to support digital and print marketing campaigns.
  • Work with SCET staff and faculty to create marketing materials.
  • Attend weekly marketing meetings and participate in feedback process.
  • Produce materials in a timely manner.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be a current UC Berkeley student with plans to enroll for 2018-2019 academic year
  • Experience with graphic design — must have website or portfolio
  • Skilled with Adobe CS and/or other necessary graphic design software
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and meet deadlines
  • Love for design and ambition to improve

Application Logistics

  • Applicant must be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week. Position is 12-20 hours per week on average during the school year.
  • Compensation for this position is $15/hr.
  • Students from all majors are encouraged to apply.
  • Work-study is preferred but not required.
  • Position is flexible to start in fall 2018 or summer 2018.
