Leanid Palkhouski, originally from Belarus, transferred to UC Berkeley as a junior. He quickly immersed himself in SCET offerings, and currently serves as the CEO of Wrodium, “a knowledge freshness infrastructure platform for AI-indexed enterprises.”
A content engineering platform that optimizes for “knowledge freshness, factual consistency, and machine-readability,” Wrodium was accepted into the Berkeley SkyDeck program and was recently awarded the Most Innovative Technology at the Berkeley SkyDeck Pad-13 Pitch Competition.
We followed up with Leanid Palkhouski to learn about his journey and the future of Wrodium.
From Belarus to Berkeley
As a high school student in Belarus, Leanid always knew that he wanted to end up in Berkeley. His deep fascination with new technologies and aspiration to build something of his own drew him to Berkeley and Silicon Valley.
“I wanted to be in Berkeley. I knew that, no matter what, I will end up here, and I’m here. So the rest is history.”
Since arriving at Berkeley, Leanid has immersed himself in the SCET community. In the Summer of 2023, he took the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, an experience that left a deep impression on him. He additionally took the A. Richard Newton Lecture Series, which furthered his excitement for entrepreneurship.
The Origins of Wrodium
Leanid spent the summer of 2025 brainstorming ideas on a whiteboard in his apartment, determined to build something valuable in the age of constant AI disruption.
While using large language models, he continuously encountered several issues, including LLM search hallucinations and outdated, irrelevant links.
Leanid, fascinated by AI search capabilities, realized an opportunity to address “knowledge decay”, and ensure that content remains factually accurate at the enterprise level. His background in business strategy, data science, and academic research equipped him with the skills to build a solution to this issue.
“What if we take AI agents with nearly infinite context windows, and dynamically refresh the content of articles and books without changing the context?”
He partnered with his cofounder and CTO, Arlen Kumar, to turn this concept into a reality, and the two began building Wrodium. Initially, the product was centered around content refreshment. After realizing a greater opportunity, the team decided to focus on building self-evolving content on top of content refreshment. This direction allowed for greater innovation and optimization at the business workflow level.
“Wrodium is AI visibility and knowledge freshness infrastructure for the agentic web. We help companies ensure that systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews see their brand information as current, accurate, structured, and worth citing.”
“At a high level, Wrodium monitors how AI engines represent a company, detects when stale claims or weak positioning reduce visibility, and identifies where competitors are gaining ground. From there, it helps teams update and structure their content so they are more likely to be surfaced, cited, and recommended by AI systems.”
Building for the Future
When building an AI startup, it is critical for founders to align themselves for the future. Leanid ensures that company discussions are centered around a key question: How do we make sure that our company will be on the edge in the future?
“If this will be replaced or will not be technologically needed in the next months, we don’t bother to develop or build it.”
Wrodium is well-positioned to weather the uncertainty of the future. Leanid believes that Wrodium’s value lies in its ability to offer insurance that, no matter what happens in the AI industry, the product will set you up to be adapted to those changes.
“In a world where AI increasingly shapes buying decisions before a user even clicks a link, Wrodium helps companies stay visible inside the answer itself.”
Reflections on the Journey
Though Leanid has accomplished many milestones since co-founding Wrodium—such as speaking in the largest GEO conference and earning the Most Innovative Technology by Berkeley SkyDeck—it is the small interactions with the company’s earliest customers and investors that he is most proud of.
Leanid recalled a particular moment with an early customer—Mike Lukasevicz, CEO of Axia Growth, a M&A deal sourcing firm who ultimately decided to make an angel investment after being impressed with the team’s dedication.
“On New Year’s Eve, we connected with this firm and were onboarding them all night. I remember sitting with my four-year-old niece at the dinner table. I was holding her in one hand and replying to him in the other. And he said, ‘This is a killer mindset. I love that it’s New Year’s Eve, and you guys are responding to my messages.’”
“At the end of the day, it’s your customer experience that matters.”
Leanid’s Pearls of Wisdom
Leanid’s journey at Berkeley has instilled in him the ability to stay true to one’s vision while being open-minded.
“You have to ignore the market trends about XYZ. I always hear, ‘Your tools are going to fail.’ But, everyone has said the same about almost every successful company. At the end of the day, you’re the one operating in the industry. You’re the one talking to the customers.”
“Define your version of the future and play alongside it.”
However, it is critical for founders to practice humility. For Leanid, Berkeley has helped him to embrace critiques and diverse thought.
“There is always a smarter person. There is always someone who is willing to help you.”
When asked to describe the traits of a successful entrepreneur, Leanid emphasized the importance of both confidence and resilience.
“You’ll always hear how bad of a founder you are, how bad your product is, or how bad your business is. You have to be resilient against all attacks on you, and you must be adaptable.”
Furthermore, Leanid noted that his time at Berkeley instilled a deep sense of confidence in him, a key ingredient to leading successful teams.
“Confidence is being able to lead the vision and executing on the risks you take.”
Looking Ahead: The Future of Wrodium
At the current pace of tech innovation, it is difficult to predict the next five years, and even the next five months. However, Leanid believes that the growth and demand for a product like Wrodium will only skyrocket.
“Every company is changing how they spend money within companies, and people pour money into marketing. Essentially, when the cost of software development goes down, you can replace manual workflows with AI agents, and use unallocated revenue to either be paid to yourself as a business owner or reinvested back into the company. And usually, that reinvestment happens in marketing.”
The company’s investment in research, community-building, and brand-building is what sets them apart.
Wrodium is poised to hold a strong strategic position in their industry, which is growing at a ridiculous speed. In the coming months, the team will continue to explore deeper verticals, expanding the product, and launching evolving agents. In the future, Leanid hopes that Wrodium will serve as a backbone for AGI operations.
Leanid envisions a future where the accuracy of information is never incorrect or outdated, but rather fresh and verified—tailored to each individual comprehending information most efficiently.
“It’s one of the greatest times to be building what we are working on.”
