Course Coordinator, Spring 2026 Classes
The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures. The Center is currently seeking Course Coordinators for our Spring 2026 classes.

Time Commitment: average of 10-20 hours a week
Pay Rate: $19.18/hr

Position Summary
The Course Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the successful delivery and operations of courses within the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET). Course Coordinators support accomplished industry instructors and their curriculum while gaining valuable exposure to successful industry professionals and entrepreneurs. Specific responsibilities vary by class and instructor but focus on ensuring courses run efficiently and align with the SCETs academic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Course and Team Coordination

Assist instructors with class administration, including communication with students, staff, and guest speakers.

Manage course logistics such as enrollment, classroom coordination, course materials, and bCourses administration.

Track student and team progress throughout the semester and report updates to instructors and center leadership.

Provide on-site support during class sessions to ensure smooth coordination and student engagement.
Guest Speaker and Event Implementation

Coordinate guest speaker invitations, confirmations, and scheduling.

Ensure all guest speakers follow university and departmental policies and procedures.

Provide on-site event support, including check-in, and post-event follow-up.

Maintain organized records and documentation for each event and speaker.
Community Engagement and Collaboration

Actively engage with the course coordinator community to share best practices and promote consistency across courses.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other coordinators to improve student and guest experiences.
Communications and Reporting

Develop and schedule social media posts that highlight course activities, guest speakers, and student achievements.

Gather data, visuals, and stories for inclusion in the Center’s impact reports, newsletters, and presentations.

Support the creation of marketing and communications materials for events and programs.
Administrative and Compliance

Follow all university and departmental policies and procedures related to courses, events, and guest management.

Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical records for classes, instructors, and student projects.

Support continuous improvement of course coordination processes and documentation.
- Submit requests for guest parking passes, swag bags and other needs in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
This is not a GSI/TA position and does not include instruction or grading. Course coordinators are considered to be a part of the student leadership at SCET and are required to attend monthly trainings and workshops to support their roles and the growth of the center.

Note that Course Coordinators must be available to be in-person during the time of the class and they cannot be enrolled in the class for which they are assisting. This is an hourly position and there is no tuition remission.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills and administrative experience
- Candidates must be reliable, flexible and professional
- Interest in technology entrepreneurship
- Completion of at least one SCET class preferred, but not required
Eligibility
Student jobs are restricted to UC Berkeley students who are registered for the current academic semester, or in the grace period immediately before or after academic semester registration (grace period defined as a semester or summer, whichever is before or after the period of enrollment). International students can refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility.
