SCET Hiring Course Coordinators for Spring 2022 Classes

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures. The Center is currently seeking Course Coordinators for our Spring 2022 classes. 

External Title: Course Coordinator

Payroll Title: Student Assistant

Duration: Spring 2022 Semester (Appointment dates: 1/1/2022-5/31/2022. The actual start date may be closer to the start of the semester depending on the instructor and the end date will likely be around the end of the semester. Students on visas which end before 5/31/2022 will end the appointment on their employment eligibility end date.)

Time Commitment: average of 10-20 hours a week

Pay Rate: $16.32/hour (no tuition remission)


Course Coordinators support accomplished industry instructors and their curriculum and will get exposure to successful industry and entrepreneurs. Specific responsibilities will vary by class and instructor. Course Coordinators assist instructors with class administration including, but not limited to, communication with students, SCET staff and class guests; and assistance with managing enrollment, preparing course materials, coordination in class and bCourses administration. This is not a GSI/TA position which supports instruction and grading.

See the Schedule of Classes for class details and the SCET website for additional information on course offerings. Note that Course Coordinators must be available to be in-person during the time of the class and they cannot be enrolled in the class for which they are assisting. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills and administrative experience
  • Candidates must be reliable, flexible and professional
  • Interest in technology entrepreneurship
  • Completion of at least one SCET class preferred


Student jobs are restricted to UC Berkeley students who are registered for the current academic semester, or in the grace period immediately before or after academic semester registration (grace period defined as a semester or summer, whichever is before or after the period of enrollment). International students can refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility.
