SCET Hiring Course Coordinators for Fall 2022 Classes

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures. The Center is currently seeking Course Coordinators for our Fall 2022 classes. 

External Title: Course Coordinator

Payroll Title: Student Assistant

Duration: Fall 2022 Semester (Appointment dates: 8/17/2022-12/31/2022)

Time Commitment: average of 10-20 hours a week

Pay Rate: $16.32/hour (no tuition remission)

Description

Course Coordinators will support accomplished industry instructors and their curriculum and will get exposure to successful industry professionals and entrepreneurs. Specific responsibilities will vary by class and instructor. Course Coordinators assist instructors with class administration including, but not limited to, communication with students, SCET staff and class guests; and assistance with managing enrollment, preparing course materials, coordination in class and bCourses administration. This is not a GSI/TA position and does not include instruction or grading.

See the Schedule of Classes for class details and the SCET website for additional information on the classes and instructors. Note that Course Coordinators must be available to be in-person during the time of the class and they cannot be enrolled in the class for which they are assisting. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills and administrative experience
  • Candidates must be reliable, flexible and professional
  • Interest in technology entrepreneurship
  • Completion of at least one SCET class preferred, but not required

 

Eligibility

Student jobs are restricted to UC Berkeley students who are registered for the current academic semester, or in the grace period immediately before or after academic semester registration (grace period defined as a semester or summer, whichever is before or after the period of enrollment). International students can refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility.
