Job Title: Student Assistant, Editorial & Content Writer

Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer

Pay: $20/hr. starting, ~10 hours per week, remote & flexible hours

The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) is a global innovation hub headquartered at UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering where aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators take deep dives into the world of technology entrepreneurship and embark on the path to develop exciting new ventures. The center researches emerging technologies in its labs and offers a suite of courses and programs for students and executives.

Description: The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is currently looking for a student editorial & content writer to join the marketing team to help support SCET news channels to document and communicate SCET happenings. The type of written work that will be produced by the student in the position will be broad and may include items such as press releases, alumni profiles, startup profiles, editorial pieces about startups and technology, announcements, and other written communications that will be published on the SCET website and promoted through SCET social media and marketing channels. Qualifications: 

  • Experience and skills with writing, including command of English language, grammar, structure, prose and storytelling. 
  • Interest or experience with innovation and entrepreneurship. 
  • Additional bonus if you have taken SCET classes or earned the Certificate in Entrepreneurship & Technology.

Eligibility: These positions are restricted to UC Berkeley students. Students cannot be appointed in any combination of jobs over 100% FTE (40 hrs/week) at any given time at the University. International students should refer to the International Office website for additional details on employment eligibility and restrictions.
