Gisma University of Applied Sciences and UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology Announce New Global Partnership
Berkeley, California and Potsdam, Germany — Gisma University of Applied Sciences and the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET) at the University of California, Berkeley, are pleased to announce a new global partnership aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration among students and educators.
Through this partnership, SCET will offer students opportunities to take part in entrepreneurship education programs, participate in knowledge-exchange activities, and work on projects centered on innovation and technology. The two-year agreement includes access to SCET’s renowned Startup Semester as well as the Berkeley Method of Entrepreneurship Bootcamp.
The initiative strengthens the shared mission of both institutions to prepare future leaders to drive positive change in a global economy. SCET is UC Berkeley’s premier hub for innovation and entrepreneurship education. Our mission is to empower innovators to positively change the world. Established in 2005 within the College of Engineering, SCET equips students, professionals, and global partners with the essential skills and mindset needed to innovate, commercialize technology, and lead in the global economy.
Gisma University of Applied Sciences is a state-recognized private university with campuses in Potsdam and Berlin. With students and faculty from more than 90 countries, Gisma offers globally oriented programs in management, leadership, data science, artificial intelligence, and software engineering, combining academic research with insights from industry leaders.
Gisma maintains career partnerships with companies such as Zalando, eBay, Amazon and SAP, and is part of the SAP University Alliances. In 2025, Gisma was one of only two universities in Germany to receive the Business School Impact System (BSIS) label by EFMD, recognising its measurable social, economic, and academic impact. All study programs are state-recognized and accredited by the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) as well as the German Accreditation Council.
